fabulous-Loca Luna is all the rage!  This Spanish inspired Tapas spot, for those who don’t know tapas refers to small appetizers, typically served with alcohol. (Yes please and may I have some more!) Is there any other way to celebrate the weekend?

The ambiance is much ado about the waterfall, the extra large waiting
area, the huge in-door bar and lounge area, the spacious dinner seating area,
dance floor,  and cool outdoor patio with additional seating, and yet another bar! Have more drinks as the live band plays hip-cool Latin music or while the DJ spins everything from Hip-Hop to House. Woo! I’m tired already and I’m just writing about it. Stop in and stay a while to soothe your soul, enjoy a few drinks with friends, book your next fake bachelor party, flirt, dance in that off-beat way that just makes you-well, YOU and grab a few small bites.

Needless to say, LL is the opposite of mundane, a chance to let your hair
down or pull it up, doesn’t matter, just be yourself and you’re sure to have a
great time.

Filled with late 20-something hipsters to 40-ish fashionistas (we all
know 40 is the new 20) all just trying to have a good time and let their cares
drown in their third drink (just make sure you eat something, driving drunk
isn’t cute).  So, whether you’re grabbing the girls for a racy night out to show off those shiny red pumps you just bought or you’re chillin’ with the fellas downing a few beers while checking out that super fly chic in those shiny red pumps. This is the spot for you.

For as long as I could remember, when I thought of you, I was in awe… In awe of your beauty, your vastness, your charm. I would hear birds chirping along each morning, as I rose to face you.

They sounded so sweet back then. The seasons changed on time, and all was well with you and I. The flowers would bloom because you told them to.

I didn’t have a care in the world, but now something has gone terribly wrong! I no longer hear the birds each morning, the seasons are in a state of confusion, and the flowers just don’t bloom as brightly as they used to or on time.

I would speak to you and you would speak to me, but I just can’t hear you now. What is happening to us? I wonder, what did I do wrong?

I think I understand, so much has been done-destroyed-dishonored that… time is running its course until there is no more.

Have you ever met someone and they seemed one way in the beginning, and a completely opposing way within a very short period? What’s that all about? As if it isn’t hard enough to figure people out [Not really, but we'll get to that later...] then they go and throw you for a serious loop and get all Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hide on you!!! [LOL, but not really]

This is why I stress and urge you Ladies & Fellas, DO NOT sleep with someone you just met! Yes, there are those very few couples who have consummated on the first date and they’re living their happily-ever-after… [They are the exception, but not the rule!] That does not happen too often [Stella, why so negative?] Ha! I’m not negative, just a realist! There is a difference. Let’s move on…

Most people, male & female, live in a cloud of darkness anyway-meandering around Earth in a fog  … I’m gonna need for you to wake up and pay closer attention to the company you keep and where you sleep. I hear countless stories about Love & Loss of Love, and the confusion it causes. What’s to be confused about? Let me give you the rocket science of how to figure people out [In case you didn't notice, it's later...]:

**Are you ready? Ok, here it is … STOP! Yup, that’s it! Stop trying to figure people out and simplify your life and your understanding of the Human race to this:

-We ALL lie [Yes, you too!] at some point and for NO reason.

-We ALL embellish … something! [Yeah ok, think back to that time when you told... UH HUH, I thought so! ]

-People are lost, confused, hurt, and/or ignorant [Yes, I said it, ignorant!]Yes, me too… to something

Ignorant, Defined: “unaware because of a lack of relevant information or knowledge; “he was completely ignorant of the circumstances” [From the WWW].

-We speak expectations into the Universe and when we get them, we have no clue how to handle them, or it was not exactly what we wanted in the first place [Be careful of what you wish for] Here’s a better statement to put into the Universe [Dear heavenly Father, I want what you want for me. You know my past, my future, and my heart-send me the Man/Woman that you designed for me. Help me to heal, so I am able to accept him/her when they come. And, help me to be able to accept his/her love when they share it. In Jesus' name, I thank you.] Copy and paste it if you have to and believe on it 100%.

I hear the Fellas say they want a “Strong Woman” one who is self-sufficient, doesn’t need HIM to take care of her. Then, they tell her she’s TOO strong! Or, she act like she don’t need a man… blah blah blah [I'm scratching my head now...]

I hear the Ladies say they want a “Good Man” one who pays the bills, takes care of home and the kids, and spoils them. I personally know of at least 3 to 5 of my male friends who are/have been this way to their Wives/Significant others. Then, she sits around getting her hair and nails done, trying to keep up with her girl who happens to date a big-baller! Or, she barely keeps the house clean, dinner is not cooked, and he gets home late from working and she nags him because he took too long! [What part of working and taking care of the home didn't you understand?]

I do realize that some Fellas take care of the $$$ aspect, but then neglect the Wifey on all other accords. Guys! You have to learn balance [Shut up! It is NOT hard, no harder than you bustin your tail at someone else's company or your own to get what you want].

I do realize there are some women who act jaded/angry towards men and DO treat the man like he’s disposable. Ladies, you can’t do that and expect to attract him or keep him. Lighten up, its only life. Relax, they are not all the same [Ummm, well.... Ok, no they're not...Lol!] and a decent guy, perhaps even a really good one is out there that you can allow your guard to come down for. Have faith! Repeat the prayer from above.

As for me, I choose to be single, because I am a much better judge of character than I used to be, and I take my time to feel a man up… Oooops!  I meant feel a man out… [LOL, just a lil' humor] Anyway, I simply have not met the guy whom God has designed me for [Plus, most of them run(figuratively) when I tell them "Oh, BTW, I'm Abstinent until I meet the RIGHT ONE... LOL! No worries].

Know this, just because you are attractive, smart, talented, and fine does not make it any easier! Trust me, I KNOW [Toot, Toot!] Seriously, sometimes the better and more well-rounded you are, the harder it gets to meet someone of your caliber [I'm just sayin...] Remember what I said earlier, people often ask for what they have no clue on how to handle.

Beware of Duality...

Ladies, we know this feeling all too well, in fact, we chase it. Women typically chase the Emotion, while Men typically chase the Act. So, how do we meet halfway?

[I have no real clue!!! ]

But, here’s my theory-Ladies, stop giving it up so easily! If more of us would stand firm in our beliefs that we deserve to be respected and that, THAT part of us IS really sacred, therefore worth something, what could they do? [Hmmm Stella, I don't know, what?] They would have NO choice but to accept our terms [The Guy: Woman! I have needs and I am not waiting FOREVER or even a WEEK for it!] No smiles here, shame on you!

Guys, give us a break and learn to respect our parameters, our Love will last longer [But, the only thing I want to last forever Stella is the SEX!!! Pant Pant Pant...] Oh give me a break would you! Grow up fellas. Learn to value your ‘Frank-n-Beans and stop throwing your stuff away every chance you get!

Ladies, you have 2 choices, #1-either you learn to respect your body and see where this guy is headed, or you keep giving it up to random dudes in hopes to find Love [Yuk! Do you really wanna keep doing that? Guy after guy after guy after guy... Whooo! I'm dizzy just thinking about it!]  Or, #2-Go ahead and take your chances with a guy who might only be there for the Sex or whatever else you DO for him [Especially if he has not even mentioned that he'd like to Marry you, or be married at all]

But, be careful Chica, just because he says it, doesn’t make it so [Also be careful with guys who say things like "You never know, some day, I don't know-we'll see"...as they may be code for game] Did you attempt to find out his goals after the first few dates? [No Silly! Don't ask him the first day you meet] Casually over dinner [that YOU pay for or COOK for him] talk about his goals.

Here is a DON’T-”So, are you enjoying your dinner?” …[blah, blah...more useless conversation ] then you say, “Well, there’s more where that came from, if you plan to marry me!” [I hope you know the Heimlich maneuver, because he's about to choke!]

Here is a DO: “So, are you enjoying your dinner?” …[more useless conversation ] then, ask- “Did you have a plan when you were young? If so, what was it?” [Guys Love to talk about themselves too ladies! If not, he may not be feeling you or he may not trust you YET] Learn to make a man feel comfortable and learn to ask leading questions, that are indirect. His response should tell you a great deal about him.

For example:

His response: “Well, I didn’t have a clue and I still don’t!” [Runnnnn!!! Oh, its your house! Dangit! You're stuck for a minute...]

His response: “Well, I didn’t then, but later in my early/mid twenties, I figured it out… I know that someday I’d like to be married after I get my business together…” [blah blah, something along those lines] Ok, now here’s a guy we can work with [No Woman! Don't go pullin' down your panties in the middle of dinner!] I said, he’s worth looking into, that means, see if his words equal his actions…watch and listen!

Ok, hope this helps… If not, you are a lost cause anyway! Just Kidding…

My LoveLess plenty, it seems like the end of the world because you have no one to share your world with, perhaps… But, I can assure you choosing the wrong mate would be much worse than going it alone. So what you sit at home on Friday, Saturday, and most Sunday’s bored to death, eating Bon-Bons then fussing about the 7,000 calories you just scoffed down! Oh…Ok…No, that really sucks and you need to get a life, a hobby, a mani-pedi…something/anything to get you outta the house! [smile]

All is not lost my lovely… There is so much to do in this world and so much to see and experience, there’s no excuse to sit and be bored. You could read a book… Ok, nevermind! [try it sometimes though ] You can go to an early movie [wouldn't want anyone to see you going solo now would you?] You can visit the Spa, I’m sure you could use a massage! Heck, I can always use a massage [NO! Not the Happy Ending kind-Fellas] You can also go to an Art Gallery, sit at a Cafe and peruse your favorite magazine [Try Starbucks, for some reason everybody looks important holding a Starbucks cup of Coffee/Tea/Latte...whatever!]

Ohhhh, my bad, you’re broke too! Dang! This really IS bad… Ok, well.. Hmmmm… You had better go ahead and read that book! ;^)

Just kidding, here are some things you can do on a budget:

Walk around your local park, drive through the rich neighborhood(s) and daydream [what? It helps!], rent 1$ movies from Redbox/BlockBuster Movie Cubes, go to your local track and run some stairs [You know you need it to work off those Bon-Bons!] Do some research on your Laptop/PC [No computer either!] Geez, where have you been Wo/Man!? Head to your local Library and hop on their computer [No jumping little old ladies!!!].

Welcome to my column, “Boxing Stella, The Love Column” I am all for and about Love. It is the universal language of life, so we should all get used to giving, and accepting it with an open mind and a pure heart.

I decided to create this Column because, well, I’ve always wanted one…  And, thanks to the advancement of modern technology (Hooray for Geeks!) I can have one of my own… [Smile]. I named it “Boxing Stella” because I have always been placed in someone else’s BOX, misread or misunderstood [And, I feel like I'm boxing with the world]. People have a habit of judging a book by its cover, and they never bother to open themselves up to get to know the real person they are passing judgment about. I’m sure there are so many of you out there who can relate to that. So, in essence, this Column is about LOVE-yes, but it is also about ME.
